session 1 - agroecology for climate action - 17/11/2021, 11:00-13:00

Scientists, policy makers and advocates for Farm to Fork Strategy will discuss how agroecological systems can address climate change.

Panelists will discuss relevant Agricultural Elements of the Sixth IPCC Report and agriculture-related outcomes from COP 26 and how to implement transition through Agroecology while reducing GHG emissions from Agriculture.

A moderated discussion will follow the presentations and give all the participants the opportunity to discuss and interact .

 

session 2 - shaping cap strategic plans focusing on agroecology - 17/11/2021, 11:00-13:00

This session will focus on the political stakes and the territorial and temporal scales for the implementation of measures in favor of the agroecological transition.

Representatives of local and regional governments and European public policy specialists will exchange views and provide updates at this pivotal moment when the national strategic plans for the Common Agricultural Policy are to be finalized and the European green deal sets ambitious transition objectives.

A moderated discussion will follow the presentations and give all the participants the opportunity to discuss and interact.

 

SESSION 3 - transition to healthy food systems: agroecology in a post-covid era - 17/11/2021, 15:00-16:30

Physicians, global experts, and organic agriculture scientists will discuss opportunities and constraints to implement Agroecology to transition to healthy Food Systems.

The connection between human and ecological health will be discussed and how the Farm to Fork Strategy of EU should be articulated at national and local level to develop innovative food systems.

A moderated discussion will follow the presentations and give all the participants the opportunity to discuss and interact.

 

Session 4 - agroecological perspectives in formal and non-formal education - 17/11/2021, 15:00-16:30

The collective change in production practices and approaches to agricultural and food systems cannot be achieved without transformations in the teaching and education system.

Journalists and academics from across Europe will put into perspective these innovations necessary to train young professionals and citizens committed to the transition.

A moderated discussion will follow the presentations and give all the participants the opportunity to discuss and interact.
